High protection formula for modern passenger car, SUV, ute and light commercial diesel engines
Suitable for vehicles with and without Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF)
Check the lubeguideNulon Full Synthetic 5W-40 Passenger and Light Commercial Engine Oil is designed to provide the ultimate protection for all technically-advanced passenger and light commercial diesel engines. Specifically formulated to offer a higher level of protection over fuel conserving 5W-30 engine oil, this oil is suitable for turbo and non turbocharged SUV, passenger cars and light commercial vehicles as well as those needing enhanced protection during long oil drain intervals.
Safe to use in modern diesel engines fitted with catalysts and Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) requiring ACEA C3 specification. These engines require an engine oil with a low Sulphated-Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur content (Low SAPS).

Synthetic base oils have a number of advantages over mineral base oils. The uniformity of the synthetic oil molecules improves the thermal stability and reduces oxidation of the oil. Controlled molecular structure also results in lower volatility and a more stable vicosity over the life of the oil.
Most diesel engine oils carry a higher specification rating than petrol engine oils and vehicle manufacturers often specify a diesel engine oil be used in a petrol motor. This does not work in the reverse, petrol only engine oils cannot be used in diesels. Some engine oils carry both petrol and diesel specifications.
All engine oils contain detergent and dispersant additives which remove contaminant build-up inside your engine. When new oil is added to an engine these additives strip away build-up and hold the contaminant in suspension so it can be removed when the oil is drained, this does discolour the oil.
SAE is the Society Of Automotive Engineers (USA). The SAE rating of an oil is a measure of its viscosity (eg 20W50).
API is the American Petroleum Institute. The API rating of an engine oil covers the performance rating of the oil (e.g. SM for petrol, CF for diesel).
ACEA is a European industry body up of European vehicle manufacturers. The ACEA rating of an engine oil of covers the performance rating of the oil (e.g. A3/B3, C3).
How to change your Engine Oil
We show you how to change your vehicle's engine oil in an easy step by step process.
All you need to do this is, car jack, jack stands or ramps, socket or spanner, drain plug washer, oil filter wrench, oil drain pan, some rags, container for the used oil, some gloves, a new oil filter and Some Nulon Engine Oil.
Contact your local waste facilities or environmental protection agency. Used coolants can contain environmentally unfriendly materials that have originated from the engine cooling system and need appropriate disposal. Do not drain used coolant onto the ground or into storm water.
Engine, gearbox, and transmission oils are blended from base oils. These base oils are categorised into Groups by the API Base Oil Classification system. If the automotive field Group III and Group IV base oils are marketed as synthetic.
Nulon provide lubricant recommendations in their on-line Lube Guide. (mobile version)
Follow the vehicle manufacturers guidelines. Use an oil that meets there required specification and follow the vehicle manufacturer recommendation on oil change intervals. The interval can vary depending on driving and climate conditions.
All engine oils contain zinc, but in varying amounts.
